Come hear a brief history of Cerro Gordo, the town known to Los Angeles as the “City Life Saver.”
The Wrightwood Historical Society will host a guest speaker to review the history and rise of Cerro Gordo as the richest silver mine in California that equals the richest Nevada Comstock Lode near Reno, Nevada. Both mines brought in $500 million (or and equivalent of $2 ½ billion at today’s silver price of $24/ounce).
